Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (A.M.I.T®) is a cutting edge method in sports medicine that targets and treats the underlying causes of muscle and joint issues, especially those commonly experienced by active individuals and athletes; something called Muscle Inhibition. Unlike traditional treatments that often focus solely on symptom relief, A.M.I.T® goes deeper by identifying functional imbalances or inhibitions within the body – imbalances that are often caused by muscle dysfunction and are the root cause of chronic pain, reduced mobility, and recurring injuries.
A.M.I.T® practitioners are trained to detect these hidden weaknesses and correct them before they lead to more severe problems. By addressing the specific muscles and joints that are not functioning properly, A.M.I.T® restores balance and stability to the body. This approach not only accelerates healing but also enhances overall physical performance, allowing you to push your limits without the fear of injury.
One of the most significant benefits of A.M.I.T® is its ability to provide long-term relief without relying on invasive procedures or medication. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, or looking to improve your athletic performance, A.M.I.T® offers a holistic solution that helps you stay active, healthy, and pain-free.
Developed by Dr. Craig Buhler and his team, A.M.I.T® has been utilized by top athletes around the world, including members of professional sports teams. Its effectiveness in both preventing injuries and promoting faster recovery makes it a preferred choice for those who demand the most from their bodies. At Straight Up Chiropractic, Dr. Gavin Hall brings this powerful technique to Southern Utah, helping patients of all backgrounds achieve their best physical health.

Real Stories of Relief and RecoveryThe Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (A.M.I.T®) has a rich history rooted in innovation and a deep understanding of the human body. A.M.I.T® was developed from the pioneering work of Dr. Alan G. Beardall, a chiropractor and visionary in the field of applied kinesiology. Dr. Beardall’s relentless pursuit of understanding how muscles and joints function led to the creation of a system that could isolate and test over 300 muscles in the body—a breakthrough that revolutionized human performance analysis and treatment.
Dr. Beardall’s work laid the foundation for what would become A.M.I.T®. His approach focused on identifying and correcting functional imbalances in the body, ensuring that once a muscle was treated, it wouldn’t need to be treated again. His commitment to excellence and innovative techniques attracted elite athletes from around the world, seeking to enhance their performance and recover from injuries.
After Dr. Beardall’s untimely passing, Dr. Craig Buhler continued to advance this work. Dr. Buhler applied these techniques while serving as the chiropractor for the Utah Jazz basketball team for 26 years. Through his experience with professional athletes, Dr. Buhler further refined A.M.I.T®, making it a powerful tool for both acute injury recovery and the treatment of chronic conditions. His work revealed new insights into how muscles and connective tissue interact, leading to more effective treatments for stubborn, long-standing injuries.
Today, A.M.I.T® is recognized as a standard of care for athletic injuries and human performance improvement. It’s a technique that not only helps prevent and treat injuries but also enhances the overall function of the body. At Straight Up Chiropractic, Dr. Gavin Hall proudly offers this advanced technique, helping patients from all walks of life achieve their full physical potential.

Neural Pathway Integration (NPI) expands on the Advanced Muscle Integration Technique {AMIT). Dr. Eric Rawlin’s insight into muscle inhibition led to the theory that other bodily structures, including nerves and organs, could also suffer from imbalances. This led to the development of NPI.
The nervous system, which governs all bodily functions, thrives when communication signals are uninterrupted. Muscles can become inhibited due to injury, as explained through AMIT, but they can also be inhibited as a result of dysfunction in the brain, nerves, organs, immune system and other areas. By addressing dysfunctions of nerve, brain, organ, etc., healing can come to the problem area and correct inhibitions or compensations actively displayed as weakness in the muscles.
NPI is a continuously developing technique that investigates the various causes of physiological imbalances, providing healing options for a wide range of conditions. This completely safe, risk-free treatment, aims to restore such functions. If you aren’t sure if NPI can help with your situation, ask!
